Accessibility statement
We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a keyboard only, a screen reader, a magnifier, or without JavaScript.
What we aim for
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, which is what Norwegian law requires from public bodies. This is a draft statement: the official one will be published through uustatus.no once it has been agreed with HVL.
What we have done
- Every chart has the same numbers available as a table, and a written summary.
- Colours are never the only way to understand something: values are always written out as well.
- Text and background colours were checked against the WCAG AA contrast rules, in both themes.
- The whole site works with the keyboard, and the focused element is always visible.
- Pages arrive complete from the server, so they work with JavaScript switched off.
- The page never reloads by itself, and nothing moves or flashes without being asked.
- The site follows the light or dark setting of your system, and text can be enlarged.
Known limitations
- The charts are pictures of curves. They carry a text summary and a table, but a curve read point by point is still easier for a sighted reader.
- The site is in English only for now. Norwegian pages are planned.
- The wiring diagram is described in words underneath, but it remains a simple drawing.
